Kate is the Director of Student Entrepreneurship at GW, where she sets strategy and directs initiatives to engage and support undergraduate and graduate students in entrepreneurial activities at all GW schools. She and her team partner with students, faculty, staff, and alumni throughout the year to bring high value educational and experiential opportunities to the GW community, including the nationally recognized New Venture Competition and the GW Founders’ Circle.

A proud GWSB alum, Kate brings over 15 years of experience with global enterprises back to GW. Her career has taken her from Capitol Hill to NATO to Silicon Valley, as well as to five continents. She's held progressive leadership roles in strategy, marketing, and operations at Fortune 100 companies including Facebook, Walmart, and Boeing. In her last corporate role, she served as the Head of Marketing Strategy and Operations for Instagram, based in San Francisco.

In 2020, Kate chose to turn her attention to small and early-stage companies, bringing her corporate experience to bear in the startup ecosystem. In addition to consulting independently, she joined Tampa Bay's Embarc Collective as the in-house Executive Marketing and Branding Advisor. Embarc is Tampa's largest and fastest growing hub for startup talent, helping its members build bold, scalable, thriving companies through a staff of function-specific experts who deliver individualized support. Kate deeply resonates with Embarc's founder-first approach, where the coaching philosophy is centered on helping members become stronger, sharper, and more resilient leaders - a commitment that now guides her work at GW!

Kate is currently a doctoral student in GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development, working toward an EdD in Human and Organizational Learning.  In 2010, she earned a Global MBA from GW, where she was a Potomac Fellow, President of the International Business Society, and a F. David Fowler Career Center Peer Career Coach. She also holds a BA in Public Policy from Duke University.
