Two fellows from the State Department's Professional Fellows Program

Mohamed Abbas and Sivgech Tang

This past month, the OIE hosted two fellows from the State Department's Professional Fellows Program (PFP), Mohamed Abbas from Egypt and Sivgech Tang from Cambodia.

The Middle East North Africa (MENA) PFP program is organized by Legacy International and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) PFP program is managed by American Councils for International Education. Together, they empower young professionals to pursue their entrepreneurial vision by matching them to a U.S. institution focused on innovation.

Mohamed has over 19 years of practical experience working with entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs in and out of Egypt. He is the co-founder of the NilePreneurs initiative, and founder of NP INCUBATE, the incubation program at Nile University. Currently, Mohamed is the Associate Director and Head of the Business Incubators Program at NilePreneurs Initiative, IECC, and Nile University.

Sivgech is a dedicated professional passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and supporting impactful business initiatives in Cambodia. Currently, she works for a social enterprise focused on nurturing startups in the Southeast Asia region. Her expertise in training facilitation, and her commitment to women's economic empowerment were honored during her previous role, where she worked to assist women-owned businesses in effectively managing and scaling their operations.
