How It Works

GW Summer Startup Accelerator (NEW)

The ventures chosen for the GW Summer Startup Accelerator join a cohort of GW student ventures who all share a common goal: to launch and scale their startup ventures.

The participant ventures will assemble in a kick-off session on June 1, 2021. Each venture is assigned a mentor, and the participants engage each week with a highly skilled teaching team and the GWSSA Subject Matter Experts. During each of the nine weeks of the program, the ventures are required to participate in structured online workshops, counseling sessions, data gathering and practice pitches of their venture. Heavy emphasis is placed on gathering and generating data that supports the key elements of the venture's business model.

Participant ventures are required to develop a detailed project plan and to track and report their progress on implementing the plan. Participants are also required to conduct frequent interviews with customers and other key stakeholders.

Participants are required to work full-time in the GWSSA for the duration of the program. Only ventures that can commit to working full-time on their ventures during the nine weeks of the GWSSA are likely to gain admission to the program.

SSA 2020 Zoom

The GWSSA culminates with the Showcase and Demo Day on July 29, 2021, where each venture pitches their business plan to scores of investors, provides product demonstrations and conducts other business discussions.
